It is now only three weeks until LiveStrong Summit 2008 in Columbus, OH!!
 
I will be there and owuld love to meet as many of you as possible?

A quick update on Summit 2008....
 
The slots are filling up very fast and it is likely the applications will be cut off in the next week or two at the most so you MUST ACT NOW if you wish to apply!!!!
 
It has now been confirmed that the LAF will be hosting a Presidential Townhall with the candidates during the Summit so we can all hear their respective plans on cancer!!!!
 

Here I sit, once again, crying uncontrollably over the fact that someone I know has died of cancer while I survived.
I am 55 and after 1/2 year of treatment and 5 yrs close surveillance for small cell lung cancer, was told in 06 I am cured.
I caused this cancer from smoking, only way you get it. It has a crappy survival rate, but I did.
I experience this horribly intense sorrow when I hear of someone I know who has died of cancer when I didn't. It can be totally overwhelming.

Hi I am new here.My mother died of cervical and lung cancer when I was young.And recently my mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer and one of them had to be removed eventually.Why is cancer so cruel to mankind, irrespective of sexes?Some extracts from JOHN HOPKINS :

The Lance Armstrong Foundation has recently announced they will indeed host LiveStrong Summit 2008!!
 

keep the faith
despite how you feel today
it will soon be okay
when the sky is grey
think blue until purple appears in all its colorful glory
and today cancer is not who iam it is something which has evaded
my life and one more thing to get past and get over.

The Summit is over... from all the feedback I have gotten.. it was a success.... so what now?
 
We will be talking and meeting in the coming weeks and discussing where Cancer Advocates goes from here?  When we first came together, we were totally focused on this ONE summit... we have done that.  I feel we have started something truly wonderful and worthwhile and something that could truly help a lot of people, which after all is the goal.
